The eye for detail

I learned to both see and appreciate the smallest details on a Florida produce farm, walking crops measured in the millions my entire life. Scouting plants is not glancing. It is pattern recognition — a change in color, a weak spot in the row, a single leaf with a worm hole. That habit is the whole job.

It is the same standard I bring to leather. I select skins for grain and character, then cut and finish each piece by hand. Nothing leaves the bench unless the detail holds up close. That is how I make the finest goods I can.

Responsibly Sourced

Our premium exotic hides are sourced legally thru cites verified channels.

Every piece of leather has a story — in its grain, its scars, the irregularities that make one hide different from the next. That is especially true of the wild hides I work with. I read that first, the same way I used to read a field. Then I cut and finish the piece by hand in Florida, and keep the design quiet so the hide does the talking. Timeless simplicity and elegant function are the hallmarks of a Goodson piece.
